A great place to visit on a day out. Not likely to be somewhere I would go regularly. It was quite busy when I visited so others might have a different opinion. A mediocre menu on a4 paper 📄 and someone forgot to turn the heating on. On the positive side the cask ales are good and it's a lovely building.
Update for March 2025: not much has changed here except that two of the cask ales had been too long in the barrel.

My daughters called last year and said how lovely the place and food was. Took me today to try it out. So lovely. Had fish and chips. So fresh and tasty. Will recommend this beautiful place. Can't fault anything. Dog was also invited.

12 of us visited for lunch for our mum’s birthday. The atmosphere was super, service excellent and food and wine really great. Highly recommend!

Lovely lunch this afternoon after a long day’s walking. Very friendly, efficient and helpful service made sure everything was okay. I was so impressed with the staff managing the restaurant floor. Food and drinks were great too, a lovely cosy place to relax, unwind, and enjoy a comforting meal. Amazing

Faultless.
We had dinner and breakfast and everything was delicious. The atmosphere is beautiful, what a pub should be. Everything was made in house and you could taste that. The service was brilliant as well. Highly recommended and we will definitely go back when we are in the area again.

It is a lovely country pub with a great atmosphere. The service was excellent and the staff very pleasant and polite. The food was absolutely delicious and we had 3 empty plates. My husband had the large fish and chips and he was not disappointed 😃 even with his big appetite he couldn’t eat all his chips. My husband was impressed with the range of beers on offer. It was our first visit and we will definitely go back again. The only downside is the small car park which was very muddy when we visited as it was a rainy day.

Fabulous food and drink. Spent 5 days holidaying near by and are here 3 times. Sunday lunch, evening meal and a breakfast. All food was beautiful the fish and chips was huge ( a smaller portion available which is still generous) and breakfast really set us up for the day. Would def recommend staff very attentive too. Couldn’t fault it.x

Family went there today for my mums 90th birthday lunch she was born just up the road, food is some of the best I have ever had I have traveled all over the planet , staff very friendly it’s always a joy to go here you can even take the dog 👍 .
